Both leathers
are made from large, high-quality, grade-A hides
that are chrome-tanned, drum-dyed, and lightly
pigmented with a semi-aniline finish. Semi-aniline
finishes allow you to see the natural beauty
of the leather. If we used lower quality hides,
we would need more pigment to cover up flaws
in the leather and that would hide its natural
look.
Your jacket's design
is clean and elegant because we use large hides.
The back and the under sleeves are cut
from one piece of leather. If we used
smaller, cheaper hides, we would be forced to
split the back into two pieces. Even the
storm flap is cut as part of the front of the
jacket, rather than a strip of leather sewn
on top.
Your jacket needs
to endure hard wear, so we make the Skyliner
from high quality materials: durable textured
Dacron twill linings, solid brass zippers with
bell pulls, and black oxide S-ring snaps.
The Skyliner
is cut full and slightly off-the-shoulder. Its
action back allows you to easily reach over
your head. The leather cuffs snap shut
and the back of the waistband is elasticized
so it adjusts to you. The storm flap over
the zipper keeps out the cold, even in a driving
wind.
Large chest pockets
provide plenty of room for your gear, inset
welt pockets keep your hands warm, and a large
leather-bound inside pocket captures your wallet,
notebook, or PDA. The front pockets are
inset into the front of the jacket and corded. Building
the pockets is complicated and time-consuming,
but the result is beautifully sophisticated.
