| VF-3 pilot Butch OHare became the Navys first ace and a Medal of Honor
winner by shooting down five aircraft in one mission. And "Fighting Three"
pilots wore the M422-A jacket with their legendary Felix the Cat patch. VF-3 flew F-4F
Wildcats from the carriers Saratoga, Lexington, and Yorktown in historic battles at
Wake, Bougainville, the Battle of the Coral Sea, and Midway. It became one of the Navy's
most famous squadrons and its jackets sought after as symbols of courage, honor, and
bravery. This limited edition, collectors jacket has all
the features of World War II M-422A jackets, including seal brown goatskin, crimson
lining, and distinctive rib-rack knit waistband. The letters U.S.N. are stenciled in
silver under the russet brown lamb's wool collar. On the right chest is the famous VF-3 Felix
the Cat squadron patch embroidered on felt and a leather nametag with WWII Naval
Aviator wings and your name on the left chest. |
