How To Measure

Civil B-3 Flight Jacket Header
You've seen the Army Air Force B-3 in the WWII films "12 O'clock High" and "The War Lover."  The Army developed the B-3 to keep crewmen warm in the unpressurized, unheated B-17 and B-24 bombers.

The B-3's cream-colored sheepskin shearling is surprisingly warm.  When you buckle the two collar straps, you'll be well protected from the coldest wind.

Army Air Force issue B-3's had a single patch pocket sewn on the right side, but we replaced it with two more practical hand-warmer pockets. The B-3 also had leather reinforcements on the sleeve extending from the shoulder to below the elbow. They make the jacket very heavy and restrict movement, so we left them off this civil version of the B-3.

The other details are the same as the Army Air Force B-3 including the solid brass zipper, the the warm sheepskin shearling, the collar straps, and the turned up cuffs and waist.
