After ten years of development, the U.S. Army recently adopted Gentex's new HGU-56 helmet for its helicopter crews because it provides superior impact and tear protection. The advanced graphite and Spectra® composite shell is lightweight and the new molded earcups provide protection against hearing loss. The dual visor module has clear and dark lenses. Optional visor housing adapts to ANVIS night vision goggles. Newly manufactured by Gentex Corporation
